Happy Father’s Day!!

Greetings!

On this Father’s Day, we Christians own the bragging rights to having the best Dad in the world….well, okay, the entire creation!! Who else can say, while someone is commenting on a beautiful sunset, “yeah, my Father made that” (through Christ Jesus)!

For us, however, the celebration as being the sons and daughters of our glorious Father (2 Corinthians 6:18) is a daily, evenly hourly, ongoing expression of gratitude….as is the continual praise to our Father as well as to our Lord Jesus Christ who has made all of this possible by His unfathomable, loving sacrifice.

We can truly cry out “Abba! Father!”. (Galatians 4:6)

Under the Strong’s Concordance definition of “Abba”, there is a notation given as to the full meaning of this word at http://biblehub.com/greek/5.htm :

“Abba – “Father,” also used as the term of tender endearment by a beloved child – i.e. in an affectionate, dependent relationship with their father; “daddy,” “papa.”

All you dads have a great Father’s Day!

Until later,

Fred

Nothing Happens Without God’s Permission

Hello, again!

Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, happens on this earth or in the heavens without the explicit ‘permission’ of God and Christ Jesus. Quite literally, there is no such thing as an ‘accident’!

John 1:3 informs us that “not even one thing came into being which has come into being” apart from God creating it through Jesus Christ. And, Colossians  1:15-17 not only confirms this but reminds us that “in Him, ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER” (emphasis mine). In other words, EVERYTHING is controlled by Him.

An illustration of this is in Job 1:6,12; 2:6 where Satan, himself, is shown to be limited ONLY to what God gives him ‘permission’ to carry out.

It should not concern us as to who is President of the United States or who rules any country on this earth because we know that God and Jesus Christ ALLOWED her/him or them to be in that position in accord with Their Own Divine purpose (Romans 13:1)….even though they may be humanly foolish and/or evil like Pharaoh (Romans 9:17), Hitler and other similar sickos.

Another example of this is in John 19:11 where Jesus tells Pilate “You would have no authority against Me, if it were not having been given you from above….”.

No President, head of state or ruler of any country  can carry out any decision or policy they have made UNLESS God and Jesus give them  ‘permission’ to do so:

“Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word.” (Proverbs 16:1….The Message Bible)   Forecasters speculate on the possibility of an asteroid(s) striking the earth but this should NOT concern Christians because we know it will not happen without the ‘permission’ of God and Jesus. If it does happen, it is for Their Divine purpose and for our good, as well as the eventual good of all mankind. (Please reference the Post “All Creation Will Be Saved”)

This is true in our personal lives, obviously. Whatever circumstances you and I find ourselves in God and Christ Jesus not only allowed them but also engineered them….for Their Divine purpose with each of us.

The best example of why God and Jesus can allow such overwhelming evil, suffering and any circumstance to exist is the crucifixion of Jesus, Himself.

The GREATEST wrong, evil and sin EVER committed by any human or humans was when Jesus was crucified. The creation tortured its Creator and then nailed Him to a tree to suffer the most agonizing of deaths.

However, as it is with ALL the evil, wrongs and sufferings we have existing today, God gave ‘permission’ to have His Son go through this for His Divine purpose. We will clearly see why He could and can do this as explained below.

God actually takes this GREATEST of evils and sins and turns it into the GREATEST  BLESSING for the ENTIRE creation, even for those who did the crucifying! What love, power and wisdom does our God and Father have!!

This is the reason God and Jesus Christ can allow such awful suffering and circumstances to exist in the world: if God can take the GREATEST evil/sin (the Crucifixion) and turn it into the ENTIRE creation’s GREATEST BLESSING….which is their ultimate glorious salvation….how much ‘easier’ will it be for God, through Christ Jesus, to eventually bring about blessings and a glorious ending from ALL the ‘lesser’ evils, sins and sufferings that exist today, as well as in times past. (Please reference the Post “All Creation Will Be Saved”)

How blessed and fortunate we Christians (as well as, eventually, the ENTIRE creation) are to have a Father and Savior such as we have…. and we should be continually giving thanks to Them for this.

Later, in Him,

Fred

Giving Thanks ALWAYS For ALL Things

Greetings!

Paul was inspired to write in Ephesians 5:20  that we should “give thanks always for all things” and again in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in everything”. If there was anyone who suffered exceedingly painful persecutions and hardships as a Christian, it was certainly him. And, yet, he experienced superabounding  joy in it all!! (Please reference the Post “Supernatural Joy”)

This is why he could sincerely advise all Christians as he did in verses 20 and 18….because of his own experience with “all” things.

God and Christ Jesus NEVER, EVER allow anything to touch us during our lives as Christians unless it is for our own good and advancement.

Christ Jesus, as God in the Old Testament, set boundaries when Satan was allowed to test Job (for Job’s betterment) and it is exactly that way today for all believers.

If we have a ‘bad hair day’ in any way, shape or form, They allowed it to come to us for our benefit, whether we understand the reason or not.

If your car has a flat tire when you are on the way to work in the pouring rain, when you are already late, then God and Jesus knew you needed that situation for whatever reason They saw necessary. Be thankful They love us enough to take the time to help us learn these lessons for our Spiritual growth, even using unpleasant circumstances at times.

The same is true when we are confronted with illnesses, difficulties in our family lives and in EVERY situation along the Christian road we take.

And, of course, They ALWAYS balance out the ‘bad’ experiences along with the ‘good’ experiences that we encounter during our earthly journey.

“ALL things are working together for good to those who love God”. (Romans 8:28)

Fred

Some Of Our Weaknesses Take Longer To Overcome

Hi, there!

As Christians, we should NEVER be overly discouraged by our persistent failures when dealing with some of our weaknesses….although we should certainly intensely mourn the defeats with great regret….and seek the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives even more.

A really good example of this is revealed in Galatians 2:11-12 where Peter royally messed up and Paul had to confront and admonish him in front of everyone present.

Peter had personally been with Jesus for about 3 years and had had the Holy Spirit within him as a Christian for at least 17 YEARS (Galatians 1:18; 2:1). Not only that, but he was the head of the entire Jewish ecclesia!!!

And, yet, it is shown in Galatians 2 that he actually succumbed to peer pressure BECAUSE OF FEAR! He was afraid of what other people (fellow Christians, no less!!) might think of him EVEN AFTER all he had been through in past 17 or so years and in spite of having the Holy Spirit mightily within him as an apostle!I would venture to guess he was NOT ‘practicing the presence of God’ at this time.

The horrendous sins of David involving Bathsheba and Uriah is an even better example of how our weaknesses can sneak up on us if we do not stay close to God and Christ Jesus AT ALL TIMES. David had been ‘a man of God’ for about 35 YEARS, when at about 50 years old, he committed these horrible sins. Likewise, it is a given he was NOT ‘practicing the presence of God’.

However, both were forgiven out of God’s unfathomable mercy and grace.

One lesson to learn here is that God and Christ Jesus understand how difficult it is for us to be humans even when we possess Their Holy Spirit. How fortunate and blessed we are to have a Father and Savior such as They are, Who can extend such overwhelming forgiveness.

Another lesson would be to NEVER, NEVER give up trying to reach maturity in Christ Jesus (Matthew 5:48)  although we may fail from time to time, even after years of being a Christian (Please reference the Post on ‘NEVER….NEVER Give Up’). As well, keep in mind that we will ALWAYS suffer some degree of LOSS when we sin, even when They forgive us.

And, lastly, it certainly shows that we should consistently and persistently ‘practice the presence of God and Christ Jesus’ to insure that we are constantly in touch with Them and not left alone to ourselves, which is a scary and dangerous situation for any Christian to be in. (Please reference the Post “Practicing The Presence Of God”).

Hope to see you later.
