God Turns The World’s Greatest Sin And Injustice Into The World’s Greatest Blessing

Greetings!

I have covered the reasons why God and Christ Jesus allow suffering and apparent injustices in general terms under the Categories of “Suffering” and “God Can Give Nothing But Blessing And Goodness” but I want to cover the title of this present Category in a little more specific manner.

I have to admit I am taken back sometimes, how-be-it if only momentarily, when I see the obviously innocent suffer pain and indignities for no apparent reason. This is especially true concerning the suffering of children and animals.

However, the main example that God has given  to insure us that His ways, in ALL that He does, will ULTIMATELY bring about the greatest of blessings for each and everyone involved….even for the justifiable suffering of the sinner, which I will explain later.

This one prime example is, of course, the crucifixion of our Lord and Savi0r Christ Jesus.

God the Father, to the unenlightened human eye and thought, certainly seemed anything but fair and loving when, after His Son had lived a completely PERFECT life in total and absolute obedience and love to Him, then required and demanded Jesus to suffer one of the most horrible ways of dying possible….as well as being beaten severely !!

I can think of no greater apparent injustice.

And, it was beyond question the greatest of sins in that the world crucified its Creator Who had lived a perfect life on their (our) behalf. I can think of no greater sin than this.

But wait! God had a way to turn this greatest of sins and injustices into the greatest of blessings FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED!!!

God knew that Jesus could handle the suffering that He went through with the Cross or He would not have allowed it….plain and simple. And because of Christ’s love for the Father and His Creation He endured it and was exalted higher than all and given the Name that is above all names (Philippians 2:9)….quite a BLESSING!!

As for the world and the Creation that killed Him, God even was here able to bring about the GREATEST OF BLESSINGS for ALL mankind in that the sacrifice of Christ was accepted by the Father as the ULTIMATE penalty for sin for ALL who have ever lived or will live. (1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:18-19; 1 Corinthians 15:22-24; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Colossians 1:20)

This is why Jesus could say in John 12:32: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL to Myself….”. No ambiguity here. No mincing of words. No exceptions noted.

So, the major point of this presentation is to show that even if we can’t understand why some of  the lesser sins and suffering, as well as apparent injustices, are allowed by God and Jesus then our being able to CLEARLY see how God can take the greatest sin and injustice EVER COMMITTED and turn them into the GREATEST OF BLESSINGS….He and Jesus will have little trouble  turning ALL of these lesser ones into blessings, as well.

Concerning how Christ’s sacrifice was the ULTIMATE penalty  for EVERYONE’S  sin (permanent death) please refer to these Categories for a more complete explanation:

“All Creation Will Be Saved”

“God’s Plan For The Ages”

“Eon vs Forever”

“Hell”

“Lazarus And The Rich Man”

“Misunderstanding About the Salvation of All Creation”

The last Category listed especially deals with how sinners will suffer for their continuing sins and how some of the suffering will be quite severe. However, ULTIMATELY, even the suffering they experience will serve as chastisement for CORRECTION and NOT suffering for the mere sake  of vindictive pain. Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible puts this nicely in Matthew 25:46: “And these shall go away into age-abiding CORRECTION”. And notice, it is “age-abiding” NOT ‘eternal’!

Until later, be blessed in Him.

Destined To Be Holy

Greetings!

I have another excellent excerpt for you from Oswald Chambers’ “My Utmost For His Highest” and it is found at http://utmost.org/destined-to-be-holy/ . Actually, this is in perfect line with the Category “The Purpose Of Life”. Editing and emphasis will be mine throughout….we begin:

“…it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”  1 Peter 1:16Peter 1:16

We must continually remind ourselves of THE PURPOSE OF LIFE. We are…. destined…. to HOLINESS.

Today we have far too many desires and interests, and our lives are being consumed and wasted by them. Many of them may be right, noble, and good, and may later be fulfilled, but in the meantime God must cause their importance to decrease.  THE ONLY THING THAT TRULY MATTERS is whether a person will accept the God  Who will make him HOLY.  AT ALL COST,  a person must have the right relationship with God.

God has only one intended destiny for mankind— HOLINESS. His only goal is to produce saints. God is not some eternal blessing-machine for people to use, and He did not come to save us out of pity— He came to save us because He created us to be HOLY. Atonement through the Cross of Christ means that God can put me back into PERFECT ONENESS with Himself through the death of Jesus Christ, without a trace of anything coming between us any longer.

Holiness means absolute purity of your walk before God, the words coming from your mouth, and EVERY thought in your mind— placing EVERY detail of your life under the scrutiny of God Himself. Holiness is NOT simply what God gives me, but what God has given me that is being exhibited in my life.

All the best, in Him.Fred

Why It Is So Difficult To Be A True Christian

Greetings!

This Post follows nicely the last Post (“When God Becomes Real To Us”) concerning why it is so NECESSARY that  we CONTINUALLY have ABSOLUTE CONCENTRATION and DEPENDENCE on our Father and Christ Jesus, moment by moment. Please also read the UPDATE of 01/24/2015 that was added to the last Post today.

Here is a list of reasons why it is so VERY difficult to not only remain a true Christian but also to actually progressively grow into the Image of Christ Himself (Colossians 3:10).

1. The very nature of our corruptible and decaying earthly bodies is CONSTANTLY warring against the ‘fruit’ and desires of the Holy Spirit (Romans 7:22-23). Please also reference the Post “Law Of Sin In Our Members”.

2. The very center and essence of our being as humans is our  “heart” which Jeremiah 17:9 tells us “is DECEITFUL above ALL things, and DESPERATELY WICKED; who can know it?“.

In other words, we are pretty much PROGRAMED to be sinful!! Let’s continue.

3. If #1 and #2 were not bad enough, throw in how Satan and his band of sinister sidekicks are CONSTANTLY ASSAILING us from within! He and they are ALWAYS lurking to trap us into sinning at every and any available opportunity (1 Peter 5:8).

4. Add to all of this what Jesus teaches with the parable in Matthew 13:22 about how the cares, worries and desire for earthly goods and riches of this life can cause us to fall away completely. Concerning the truth in this parable Oswald Chambers writes (01/27/2015 entry….emphasis mine):

“It is one STEADY INVASION, and these things will come in like a flood, UNLESS we allow the Spirit of God to raise up the banner against it.”

WOW….talking about having the deck stacked against us, it would seem almost IMPOSSIBLE for any Christian to remain as such, much less grow into becoming more like our Lord Himself.

Thankfully and blessedly, because of God’s love, mercy and grace for us, we have the ability by the SAME Holy Spirit that was in Jesus when He walked the earth and overcame #1,#2,#3 and #4 (John 16:33)!

However, this victory is given only to those who CONTINUALLY (even though we may fall short and fail occasionally) “walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16-25; Romans 8:1,4).

Not only are we able to have VICTORY but also have the ability to ENJOY the “fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22)  that is of a HOLY nature and far superior to its human counterpart! Please reference the Post “Fruit Of The Spirit” for more information on this.

This is why what is brought out in the Post “When God Becomes Real To Us” is so important….again, please read the UPDATE to this Post as noted the first paragraph above.

All the best in Him.

Some Of Our Weaknesses Take Longer To Overcome

Hi, there!

As Christians, we should NEVER be overly discouraged by our persistent failures when dealing with some of our weaknesses….although we should certainly intensely mourn the defeats with great regret….and seek the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives even more.

A really good example of this is revealed in Galatians 2:11-12 where Peter royally messed up and Paul had to confront and admonish him in front of everyone present.

Peter had personally been with Jesus for about 3 years and had had the Holy Spirit within him as a Christian for at least 17 YEARS (Galatians 1:18; 2:1). Not only that, but he was the head of the entire Jewish ecclesia!!!

And, yet, it is shown in Galatians 2 that he actually succumbed to peer pressure BECAUSE OF FEAR! He was afraid of what other people (fellow Christians, no less!!) might think of him EVEN AFTER all he had been through in past 17 or so years and in spite of having the Holy Spirit mightily within him as an apostle!I would venture to guess he was NOT ‘practicing the presence of God’ at this time.

The horrendous sins of David involving Bathsheba and Uriah is an even better example of how our weaknesses can sneak up on us if we do not stay close to God and Christ Jesus AT ALL TIMES. David had been ‘a man of God’ for about 35 YEARS, when at about 50 years old, he committed these horrible sins. Likewise, it is a given he was NOT ‘practicing the presence of God’.

However, both were forgiven out of God’s unfathomable mercy and grace.

One lesson to learn here is that God and Christ Jesus understand how difficult it is for us to be humans even when we possess Their Holy Spirit. How fortunate and blessed we are to have a Father and Savior such as They are, Who can extend such overwhelming forgiveness.

Another lesson would be to NEVER, NEVER give up trying to reach maturity in Christ Jesus (Matthew 5:48)  although we may fail from time to time, even after years of being a Christian (Please reference the Post on ‘NEVER….NEVER Give Up’). As well, keep in mind that we will ALWAYS suffer some degree of LOSS when we sin, even when They forgive us.

And, lastly, it certainly shows that we should consistently and persistently ‘practice the presence of God and Christ Jesus’ to insure that we are constantly in touch with Them and not left alone to ourselves, which is a scary and dangerous situation for any Christian to be in. (Please reference the Post “Practicing The Presence Of God”).

Hope to see you later.

The “Secret” Revealed To Paul

Greetings!

In Ephesians 3:2-3, Paul writes that a “secret”  was personally revealed to him by a “revelation”, and it involved a dispensation or administration concerning “the grace of God” towards the Gentile nations. He also called it the “secret of Christ” in verse 4 and referred to it as the “secret of the evangel” in Ephesians 6:19. This is also confirmed in Romans 16:25-26.

He goes on to say that this “secret” was NOT, and was NEVER made known in past generations….until it was divinely revealed to him (Colossians 1:26-27). Quite simply, the “secret” proclaimed that called believers from the Gentile nations (you and me) were to become “JOINT PARTAKERS” and “FELLOW HEIRS”  with the Israelites, and ON EQUAL FOOTING! In times past, a Gentile could only hope for proselyte status with the Jewish nation, and a far more subordinate role and much less inheritance.

Now, however, there was to be a “joint body” (Body of Christ) whereby the Gentile “nations” enjoyed FULL inheritance status with the Israelites (Ephesians 2:19, 3:5-6).

He continues that this “administration of the secret”, having  been “hid from the ages in God” (verse 9) was also a display of the “many kinds of wisdom of God” to the “principalities and authorities in the heavenly places”….and, was in accord with God’s “purpose of the ages (eons)” (verse 11).

Additionally, those believers from the nations (Gentiles) called under Paul’s “secret administration” did NOT have to observe ANY ELEMENTS of Jewish Law except (1) keep from things sacrificed to idols (2)keep from blood and from things strangled (3)keep from fornication. This can be found in Acts 15:4-20, especially in verses 18-20.

The Jewish believers (Peter, John, James, et al), on the other hand, had been instructed by Jesus Himself to keep ALL the elements of the Law “until all is accomplished”. (Matthew 5:17-18).

Galatians 2:7-9 reveals it was established on Paul’s second visit to Jerusalem that it was agree by all that he had been entrusted with the evangel to the ‘Uncircumcision’ (we Gentile believers) whereas Peter was entrusted with the evangel to the ‘Circumcision’ (the Jewish believers). Paul confirms this in 1 Timothy 2:7, Romans 11:13, 2 Timothy 1:11 and Romans 15:16.

So, even though “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16), the writings of Paul are specifically addressed to us as Gentile believers.

Later, in Christ,

Fred

For When I Am Weak….I Am Strong

Hi, there! The verse noted above from 2 Corinthians 12:10 is one of the most wonderful and reassuring truths in all of Scripture! Let’s look at a few examples that illustrate this so well.

– Jesus, in His human form, was Himself crucified out of “weakness” (2 Corinthians 13:4)….yet, look how strong He was and what He accomplished by the power of God, and is also now living by this same power.

– Paul says in the same verse that we are also “weak” with Him, but God’s power is likewise for us. Thank goodness God calls the “weak” and “foolish”!! (1 Corinthians 1:27, 4:10)

– Paul is also an excellent example of how God and Christ choose the weakest and the “less than the least of all saints” to become powerful and fruitful by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 3:8)

The transliterated Greek word “astheneo” in this verse literally means: powerless, weak, sick, feeble and  needy. It not only refers to physical weaknesses (such as Paul’s “thorn in the flesh”, his bodily presence being “weak” and his speech “contemptible”….2 Corinthians 10:10) but to mental handicaps as well as emotional ones (for example, Peter’s fear from peer pressure at Antioch when he had to be confronted by Paul….Galatians 2:11-14).

– Paul recounts in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 how after asking God to remove his “thorn in the flesh” three times, God responded with “Sufficient for you is My grace, for MY POWER IS PERFECTED IN WEAKNESS (emphasis mine).”

Paul then goes on to say how he will not only delight in his physical infirmity but ” I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Paul adds in 2 Corinthians 11:30: “If I must boast, I will be boasting in that which is of my weakness.”

– Paul was made powerful and fruitful by God and Christ while he had his”infirmity” (weakness) in the flesh in Galatia. Galatians 4:13

– Paul was made powerful and fruitful by God and Christ among the Corinthians even though “in weakness and fear and much trembling”. 1 Corinthians 2:3

– 1 Corinthians 15:43 clearly indicates that our bodies are sown in weakness, and this we will have to contend with until  “it is raised in power” (same verse).

– Romans 8:26 says that we are weak even in our ability to pray properly, but also reveals how God, once again, steps in and provides for us: “In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness ; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words” (Please also reference the POST: “Dry Prayer And Monkey Chatter”)

I really like Galatians 4:27 as it pretty much sums up how God and Christ delight in enabling us to be powerful and fruitful in our weaknesses, disadvantages, infirmities, being desolate, lacking  in personal abilities, etc., etc. and etc.:

`Rejoice, O barren, who are not bearing; break forth and cry, you who are not travailing, because many [are] the children of the desolate — more than of her having the husband.’

Please reference the Post “Feel The POWER” to balance out this discussion concerning our weaknesses.

See you later,

Fred

The Ruler Of This World

Hey, there.

Although there is some limited human goodness and decency exhibited by some, we nevertheless live in a sick, sick and sad, sad world. Actually, it is a REFLECTION OF WHO RULES OUR WORLD!!. Jesus called living in this world as being “darkness” (John 1:5), as did Paul in Ephesians 5:8; 6:12. Paul went on to call this time we live in as “this present evil age” (Young’s).

Satan is definitely the ruler of this world….yes, WORLD….as in ALL nations (John 12:31, 14:30 and 16:11….Young’s). He is also called “the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4….Young’s, Rotherham’s). This is verified in Matthew 4:1, 8-10 where he offered Jesus ALL the kingdoms of the world and Christ did not dispute his authority to do so.

Never blame God and Christ Jesus directly for ANY and ALL the tremendously terrible and abominable events, conditions and individual suffering we so readily and constantly see about us….rather, blame Satan and his sidekicks (as well as those individuals with evil stored in their hearts, of course) for it ALL.

Also, in Ephesians 2:2, Satan is described further: “in which you formally walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience” (New American Standard).

The United States is no exception to Satan’s rulership. I am a natural born citizen and Marine veteran who appreciates and  enjoys our country’s wonderful freedoms, prosperity and opportunities BUT there is no denying we are not a nation of God in reality…. in vocabulary only. For instance, God would NEVER endorse NOR embrace a nation that specifically excludes Him from their government by its constitution (as we do), much less allows freedom of religion (as we do).

From a human standpoint, allowing freedom of “religion” sounds very appealing, fair and noble; HOWEVER, guess how many “religions” God allowed when dealing with Israel in the Old Testament and is going to allow in the Millennium, much less during the “new heaven and new earth”….you guessed it: one (1)….ONLY the worship of Him and Christ Jesus.

For now, we Christians are “strangers and sojourners upon the earth” (Hebrews 11:13….Young’s) and “temporary residents” (1 Peter1:17, 1 Peter 2:11….Holman’s)  in a FOREIGN LAND  and it is NOT our duty NOR our  chore to change any of the ways of any of the nations of Satan’s world; but rather, to be subject to the authorities (Romans 13:1-5) while we are GUESTS here, and are to be setting an example by walking in the Light (1 John 1:7).

A final note on Satan. As the ruler of this world, he and his cohorts  have to receive God’s permission to do EVERYTHING (directly or indirectly), as clearly illustrated by the example of Job. And, sometimes, as with Job, there are limitations placed on the Adversary’s actions. As believers, rest assured that any assault by Satan on any of us in any way was conditionally authorized and approved by God FOR OUR EVENTUAL GOOD! And, as brought out in many other Posts here, as well for the EVENTUAL good and glory of the ENTIRE CREATION when He is “ALL in ALL….1 Corinthians 15:28!

God and Christ Jesus NEVER allow any evil or sin to occur that They will not be able to bring about a GLORIOUS GOOD from it….regardless of how this may not appear at the moment.

How fortunate and blessed we (all humans) are to have a God and Savior such as They are!!!

Until later,

Fred
