God Turns The World’s Greatest Sin And Injustice Into The World’s Greatest Blessing

Greetings!

I have covered the reasons why God and Christ Jesus allow suffering and apparent injustices in general terms under the Categories of “Suffering” and “God Can Give Nothing But Blessing And Goodness” but I want to cover the title of this present Category in a little more specific manner.

I have to admit I am taken back sometimes, how-be-it if only momentarily, when I see the obviously innocent suffer pain and indignities for no apparent reason. This is especially true concerning the suffering of children and animals.

However, the main example that God has given  to insure us that His ways, in ALL that He does, will ULTIMATELY bring about the greatest of blessings for each and everyone involved….even for the justifiable suffering of the sinner, which I will explain later.

This one prime example is, of course, the crucifixion of our Lord and Savi0r Christ Jesus.

God the Father, to the unenlightened human eye and thought, certainly seemed anything but fair and loving when, after His Son had lived a completely PERFECT life in total and absolute obedience and love to Him, then required and demanded Jesus to suffer one of the most horrible ways of dying possible….as well as being beaten severely !!

I can think of no greater apparent injustice.

And, it was beyond question the greatest of sins in that the world crucified its Creator Who had lived a perfect life on their (our) behalf. I can think of no greater sin than this.

But wait! God had a way to turn this greatest of sins and injustices into the greatest of blessings FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED!!!

God knew that Jesus could handle the suffering that He went through with the Cross or He would not have allowed it….plain and simple. And because of Christ’s love for the Father and His Creation He endured it and was exalted higher than all and given the Name that is above all names (Philippians 2:9)….quite a BLESSING!!

As for the world and the Creation that killed Him, God even was here able to bring about the GREATEST OF BLESSINGS for ALL mankind in that the sacrifice of Christ was accepted by the Father as the ULTIMATE penalty for sin for ALL who have ever lived or will live. (1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:18-19; 1 Corinthians 15:22-24; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Colossians 1:20)

This is why Jesus could say in John 12:32: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL to Myself….”. No ambiguity here. No mincing of words. No exceptions noted.

So, the major point of this presentation is to show that even if we can’t understand why some of  the lesser sins and suffering, as well as apparent injustices, are allowed by God and Jesus then our being able to CLEARLY see how God can take the greatest sin and injustice EVER COMMITTED and turn them into the GREATEST OF BLESSINGS….He and Jesus will have little trouble  turning ALL of these lesser ones into blessings, as well.

Concerning how Christ’s sacrifice was the ULTIMATE penalty  for EVERYONE’S  sin (permanent death) please refer to these Categories for a more complete explanation:

“All Creation Will Be Saved”

“God’s Plan For The Ages”

“Eon vs Forever”

“Hell”

“Lazarus And The Rich Man”

“Misunderstanding About the Salvation of All Creation”

The last Category listed especially deals with how sinners will suffer for their continuing sins and how some of the suffering will be quite severe. However, ULTIMATELY, even the suffering they experience will serve as chastisement for CORRECTION and NOT suffering for the mere sake  of vindictive pain. Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible puts this nicely in Matthew 25:46: “And these shall go away into age-abiding CORRECTION”. And notice, it is “age-abiding” NOT ‘eternal’!

Until later, be blessed in Him.

Self-Sacrifice

Howdy!

I have another excerpt for you from “My Utmost For His Highest” by Oswald Chambers and it, along with 364 other daily devotionals, can be found at http://utmost.org/sacrifice-and-friendship/ (just click the web address with your pointer).

Editing and emphasis will be mine throughout:

“We will never know the JOY of self-sacrifice until we surrender in EVERY detail of our lives. Yet self-surrender is the most difficult thing for us to do.

But as soon as we do totally surrender, abandoning ourselves to Jesus, the Holy Spirit gives us a taste of His JOY.

Our Lord is our example of a life of self-sacrifice, and He perfectly exemplified Psalm 40:8, “I DELIGHT to do Your will, O my God….” He endured tremendous personal sacrifice, yet with overflowing JOY.

If He is not the One to whom I am looking for direction and guidance, then there is NO benefit in my sacrifice. But when my sacrifice is made with my eyes focused on Him, slowly but surely His molding influence becomes evident in my life.

Beware of letting your natural desires hinder your walk in love before God.

But the one true desire of a saint is the Lord Jesus. Love for God is NOT something sentimental or emotional— for a saint to love as God loves is the most practical thing imaginable.

Our friendship with Jesus is based on the new life He created in us, which has NO resemblance or attraction to our old life but ONLY to the life of God. It is a life that is COMPLETELY humble, pure, and devoted to God.”

All the best, in Him.

Led By God’s Spirit

Hi, there!

What if you had a ‘friend’, a ‘buddy’, who was tagging along with you 24/7 and this ‘friend’ had the uncanny (if not miraculous)  ability of NEVER  BEING WRONG ABOUT ANYTHING!

This ‘friend’ would always be there to guide you in making the right and perfect decision with EVERY endeavor you would ever undertake  and in EVERY circumstance that you could possibly encounter.

But wait a second, that’s not all. Our ‘friend’ would not only do all of this but actually give us the POWER to carry out all of these right and perfect decisions!

Whoa….with a ‘friend’ like this, would you not be the most fortunate and blessed person on this planet!

This ‘friend’ is, of course, is the Holy Spirit which will lead us because we are the sons and daughters of  God….Romans 8:14. The Holy Spirit never, ever makes a mistake with its guidance and its POWER is clearly revealed in the Scriptures as brought out in the Category “Feel The POWER!!.

But, here is the problem: we don’t fully and truly believe (have the faith) that the Holy Spirit can actually do all of this because God and Christ Jesus are not as real to us as They can be and should be. However, to overcome this obstacle and barrier, it is simply a matter of drawing closer to Them, and in turn, They will draw closer to us as indicated in James 4:8. Please reference the Category “Why Isn’t God More Real To Me” for further discussion on this.

As well, the most effective and easiest way to “draw near” to God and Christ Jesus is to PRACTICE THE PRESENCE OF GOD, as discussed in the Category by the same title.

Our ‘friend’ waits to guide and empower us in EVERY aspect of our lives and to do even MORE …. it will also enable us to experience and enjoy its WONDERFUL FRUIT  (Galatians 5:22).

How truly blessed we are above ALL humans to have been called by God because of the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

All the best, in Him.

Good Morning

Good afternoon from here!

This is just a reminder that we should be continually making the effort to cultivate our relationship with our Father and Savior into a more personal bond. Here are a few suggestions.

A good start is to FIRST THING in the morning, moments after we wake up, while still lying in bed, greet Them with a GOOD MORNING!!, and wholeheartedly thank Them for being there. Of course, other ‘conversation’ can continue with Them as you see fit. This has absolutely nothing to do with formal prayer and is just our way of acknowledging our appreciation for Them being there as we begin our day.

Then, we silently ‘chat’ with Them throughout the day….again, there is not formal prayer, just casual ‘conversation’ as described in the Posts “Pray On The Potty” and “Practicing The Presence Of God”. While not ‘chatting’, our gaze should be continually towards Them.

If (I should say ‘when’!!) we mess up and sin during the day, we apologize and  say we are sorry and thank Them for the awaiting forgiveness that is there because of Christ’s sacrifice. Brother Lawrence wrote that he would add something to this effect when addressing Them after his sinning:”this is what happens when I am left to depend on myself without You”.

When we see, hear or experience nice things during the day that are a delight then we simply say “Thank you”.

When we see, hear or experience the bad, the mean and the tragic that is all about us during the day we silently thank Them for Their plan to make ALL things right in the end. (Please reference the Posts on “Suffering” and “All Creation Will Be Saved”)

We should ask for Their advice when confronted with options during the day. They will respond in the appropriate way depending on the status of each ones’ individual, personal faith and what is best for each of us in that situation. Keep in mind, They are not there to merely be our “rainy day”  source of help, and we may need to learn this lesson.

So, in all we do, we should seek that personal relationship with God and Christ Jesus and not settle for just a religious acknowledgement of Them being there.

Take care and hope to see you later.

Do Not Worry About Anything

Hey, there!

Philippians 4:6 actually tells us this! Even to a vast number of Christians this may seem like ‘pie-in-the-sky’ rhetoric.   For so many, worrying is such an enormous part of every day living that not to do so would even seem ‘non-realistic’ and ‘inhuman’. And, in a way it is because the Holy Spirit  enables us to go beyond being ‘human’ in this regard. Philippians 4:7 says:

“And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

There are actually a number of very good reasons why so many of us believers do not enjoy this ‘supernatural peace’, as it were, and to be able to overcome the debilitating fear of worrying.

One is that we have to: “in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6 HCSB). CONTINUAL prayer and petition is required, along with THANKSGIVING! We should not just dwell on the problem(s) that is looming at the moment but also be remembering how we have been blessed in so many ways at the same time.

And, maybe more importantly, another is we cannot expect to receive this ‘peace and freedom from worrying’ if we are not CONTINUALLY  looking to God and Christ Jesus even when there are no major problems in existence or on the horizon! Our Father and our Savior cannot be used as a ‘light switch’….turn to Them when we need Them (on) and mostly ignore Them when things are going fine (off) (please reference the Category “Hip Pocket God” for more on this).

It comes back to what should be our mainstay in our Christian walk: looking to God and Christ Jesus our every waking moment! Please reference the Category “Practicing The Presence Of God” on this subject as well as “Pray On The Potty”.

As well, always remember that NOTHING comes our way without God’s and Christ Jesus’ permission. This is clearly shown in the book of Job where Christ Jesus (He was God in the Old Testament) gave permission to Satan to bring trials on to Job. They ALWAYS approve the trials we experience for our own benefit (Romans 8:28) and NOTHING tries us that we are not properly fitted to handle (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Finally, keep in mind that the ‘problem’ may not go away if God and Jesus determine that it is for our benefit that it remain, as was the case with Paul’s “thorn in the flesh”. However, joyfully, we can deal with it while still experiencing “the peace of God, which surpasses every thought”!!

UPDATE 01/26/2015: This is an excerpt from Oswald Chambers’ 10/27/2015 entry in his book “My Utmost For His Highest” (please reference the Category by this same title for info on how to get this wonderful writing  free online.):

“I say to you, do not worry about your life….” Our Lord says to be careful only about one thing— our relationship to Him. But our common sense shouts loudly and says, “That is absurd, I must consider how I am going to live, and I must consider what I am going to eat and drink.” Jesus says you must not. Beware of allowing yourself to think that He says this while not understanding your circumstances. Jesus Christ knows our circumstances better than we do, and He says we must not think about these things to the point where they become the primary concern of our life.”

Take care in Christ.

Who Is A Saint?

Hey, there…..there are so many scriptures in the New Testament that identify ANY person who is called by God to be a believer is a ‘saint’. One example is Ephesians 1:1 (Rotherham’s Emphasised Bible, Concordant Literal New Testament, Young’s Literal Translation, American Standard Version, etc, etc.)and there are numerous others:

Acts 9:13, Acts 26:10, Romans 1:7. 2 Corinthians 1:1, Philippians 1:1, Colossians  1:2, etc.

You don’t have to croak/kick-the-bucket/die and have mortal men decide whether you are/were  a ‘saint’ or not……this designation is a FREE gift, by grace and in faith because of the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.

Catch you later.

Suffering

Hello!

There is so much suffering today and quite a lot of it is readily seen via the multiple newscasts on television. Sometimes, it can be  difficult even for a believer  to justify a God of total Love allowing this to exist, especially where children and ‘the innocent’ are concerned. Individual and unnoticed cases of suffering abound daily, as well.

First of all, God invented ‘tough love’…. if there was a better way for us (believers and non-believers) to learn the lessons God has appointed us to benefit from then He would use it. So, in His wisdom, He has designated it (pain and suffering) the best way to go.

He required His only begotten Son to suffer (pain) beyond human imagination, all for the sake of the good of ALL mankind. His Son has been gloriously rewarded for His sacrifice (pain and suffering). As Paul wrote, the suffering of this present life is NOT WORTHY to be compared with what God has prepared for us (and, eventually, even sinners and non-believers).

Keep in mind, each trial or episode of  suffering is tailor-made for the individual….each person  is specially  ‘equipped’ to handle his or her particular hardship….no one is ever pushed beyond her or his limits (1 Corinthians 10:13…..Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible and Concordant Literal New Testament).

As with Job, God will place LIMITS on what Satan’s actions or any trial can be (Job 1:12).  What might be quite difficult for me may be  easy for you, so we cannot completely and accurately comprehend what another is going through, merely based  on our own life’s experience and limitations.

God , in His mercy and love, even programs our brains to be able to shut down the acceptance of pain at certain times, depending on the situation. And the body is capable of releasing pain killers far more powerful than morphine. At other times, when we can handle it, He allows us to experience quite a bit of real, harsh pain. Each person  is created and programmed uniquely different to cope with her or his sufferings in life.

With the children and the ‘innocent’ suffering as they do, I can again reiterate,  we can rest assured that none will be asked to endure any ‘trial’ more than each is capable of handling (1 Corinthians 10:13…..Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible and Concordant Literal New Testament). And when our hearts break and are torn asunder when we see this, you can bet God’s and Christ Jesus’ hearts ache a zillion times more for what They see the  creation going through….however, it is just something that God has determined they have to go through for their eventual good and glory.

In fact, it is just something that we ALL must experience to enable ALL of us to attain to and appreciate fully the GLORIOUS life for which we ALL are destined, each in our own order. (Please reference the Posts on “All Creation Will Be Saved” and “Misunderstanding About The Salvation of All Creation”)

Regarding the the suffering we saints go through while here on earth, I give you an excerpt from “Abandonment To Divine Providence” which can be found , along with the entire book, at http://www.ccel.org/ccel/decaussade/abandonment.ii_1.ii.iii.v.html (just click the web address with your mouse pointer) :

“This (our present sufferings) is not to be wondered at. What else could be expected? It is natural to this state. God has His plans for souls, and under this disguise He carries them out very successfully. Under the name of “disguise” I include ill-success, corporal infirmities, and spiritual weakness. All succeeds, and turns to good in the hands of God. ”

End of excerpt.

The bottom line is that God can allow limitedindividually prescribed suffering because He can and will turn it into the highest good for EVERYONE  in the end when He  is ALL in ALL! (1 Corinthians 15:22-24,28….Young’s Literal Translation)

As well, remember Romans 8:18:

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.”  This is true for the ENTIRE creation (Please reference the Post “All Creation Will Be Saved”!.

Going further, in Colossians 1:24 Paul said he was able to REJOICE in his sufferings and in 2 Corinthians 7:4 he writes “….I am filled with all comfort; I am overflowing with joy in all of our suffering.”  The Post on “Supernatural Joy” illustrates that the HOLY joy given by the Holy Spirit can defy circumstances  when we are learning from our sufferings.

When we suffer from life’s experiences it also serves to HUMBLE us, especially in FAILURE. (please reference the Post by this title). If we do not faint and remain faithful, this can be one of our greatest blessings!! Oswald Chambers writes in his book “My Utmost For His Highest” (please reference the Post by the same title) that when our Father and Jesus allow this ‘darkness’ of suffering to affect us the resulting “gift of humiliation” we experience (as a result of it revealing our human frailty and subsequent TOTAL NEED of God and Christ Jesus) “brings softness of the heart that will always listen to God”.

GOD and CHRIST JESUS ALWAYS DO EVERYTHING IN TOTAL, HOLY LOVE….concerning ALL our needed trials and sufferings as believers….and this ‘tough love’ ALWAYS works together for our glorious good (Romans 8:28).

All the best in Him,

Fred
